Challenge Courses

Adventure Races
Challenge Courses have been in existence in the United States since the 1970’s. Since that time they have been used with amazing results for the purpose of experiential education...
We have developed solutions for:
- Multi-year design and build
Experiential education was originally based on long expeditions to create artificial stresses and obstacles for participants to overcome and gain confidence.
The best challenge course is not necessarily the largest, the flashiest, or even the most expensive. The best courses, and more importantly the best programs, are designed to meet the educational needs of the participant groups. This is where NWI's experience can provide the most value-building courses that are closely aligned with the educational goals of your program.
Behavior Management through Adventure
Behavior Management through Adventure is a systematic approach to promoting positive behavior for clients with social maladjustment issues.
Using a continuum of behavior supports and proactive strategies, this model provides alternatives to expulsion and raises academic and behavioral outcomes and allows children to remain or return to the least restrictive environment.
The coordinated approach, customized manual, common language and training by an expert team results in a successful pilot or program that can be readily adapted by other programs or schools in your agency or district.
Professional Training Programs
The Northwest Wilderness Institute has been a leader in the field of infusing experiential learning into corporate training programs.
We have worked with leadership groups, teams and employee groups, small and large organizations, designing rollouts as well as stand-alone training modules.
