SAFETY
At the Northwest Wilderness Institute we feel that safety is paramount. Maintaining the highest standards of safety at all times in our instructors, as well as our guest, is our top priority.
We follow industry-standardized risk-management processes and procedures. We also perform rigorous safety reviews on every NWI program every step of the way.
This strict adherence to the confines of safety allows our participants to face challenges head-on, expand horizons, and have the time of their lives.
TECHNICAL TRAINING AND APPLICATION
Much more than a guided tour, NWI gives you the skills you need to help make sound decisions on your future adventures.
We know that everybody learns differently so we've created a teaching style that will accommodate every learning style so you get the most out of your experience with us.
You will obtain new skills, learn to make decision while in route, and walk away with new found knowledge in the form of confidence.
MINIMAL IMPACT PRACTICES
In utilizing our wilderness areas come great responsibility.
Every NWI program encompasses "Leave No Trace" ethics that can be passed from our clients to their communities. With new-found knowledge, a little practice, and respect for our natural resources, you will see how simple and self-preserving outdoor recreation can be.
WILDERNESS PREPAREDNESS
At NWI we have a strong and historic belief in self-reliance synonymous with wilderness travel.
We know that knowledge and experience can prepare a person for the unforseen variables common in wilderness settings.
The Northwest Wilderness Institute obtains this knowledge and passes it on to every one of its participants.
